Our Dartmouth Eye World Staff

Greg had always been interested in the optical field ever since he was a young child. He is a third generation optician, his late grandfather and father (Ray Dickens, owner) are also opticians. Greg started working just out of high school at an optical lab making glasses, then went on to take the optical dispensing course. Greg finished at the top of his class earning the Donald R. Dickens memorial award which was named after his grandfather. Greg has been working for his family’s business since 1985.

Greg enjoy’s spending time with his wife Lisa and two children Rachel and Michael. Greg also spends time with friends playing sports, watching movies, and playing cards.

Brian has been working in the optical industry since 1999 and received his Dispensing Optician license in 2001. He joined the Eyeworld family in early March 2007. He looks forward to having a key role on the Eyeworld team for years to come.

When Brian is away from the office he enjoy’s hanging around and going for walks with his wife Ashley and dogs Julie and Andy. Brian also stays active playing Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis. He also enjoys playing music with friends whenever he gets a chance.

Karen has been working as an optometric assistant for Eye World Ltd. since 2006. She enjoys working in the optical business with patients, optometrists and opticians. Karen is dedicated to ensuring that the front office runs efficiently.

In her free time, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband Terry, three grown children and two Siamese cats. She enjoys the outdoors, reading, movies and cooking.

Our Optometrist is Dr. Amanda Torres with more than 13 years of experience in the healthcare field. Prior to coming to Canada, she was an Optometrist in Columbia. She completed the International Optometric Bridging Program at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry.

Dr. Torres is fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish. She is able to work effectively with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. She communicates with patients in a respectful and considerate manner giving her full attention and knowledge to each and every one.
